Turnkey installation of six high-power electric vehicle charge points at Metrocentre, Newcastle for IONITY
Project summary
IONITY secured planning and lease approvals to install six additional high-power electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) at their new site at the Metrocentre in Gateshead.
We successfully bid for both the independent connection provider (ICP) works and the on-site build under two separate tenders. We delivered a full turnkey solution, covering all civil and electrical engineering work – from the high-voltage point of connection through to final charger commissioning.
Upon completion, we handed over a fully operational site, resurfaced and finished with signage and bay markings, ready to welcome its first customers in March 2023.

“We have been working with Utility Line on large EV hub projects where they have provided full turnkey completion, from point of connection to installation of the chargers. They have demonstrated a high standard of work and health and safety. I look forward to working with them on many more projects in the future.”
