Key duties and responsibilities:
- Excavation works including service trenching
- Operation of small highways maintenance plant and equipment
- Carry out ground surveys and locate underground services using cable avoidance tools
- Liaising with on-site representatives
- Reading designs
- Building foundations and forming concrete bases, laying ducting, reinstating surfaces and creating inspection pits
- Reinstatement of cable joint bays and cable installation

- To carry out and continuously review hazards and risks associated with each project

Civils Operative will require tickets, Streetworks (not essential but beneficial) and experience on site.
As Operations & Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for growing this arm of the business as well as managing our existing client contracts, providing preventative and corrective site maintenance across our client portfolio.
The role will involve supporting projects nationwide to deliver O&M support in a safe, timely and profitable manner. Utility Line provide O&M services to our clients such as (but not limited to):
- Electrical Maintenance and EV charge points
- Site performance improvement works
- Civil works
- Site maintenance
This position will be based at our Operations Head Office in Sandon, but you will be required to travel to site and hybrid working is also available.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Development of Utility Lines O&M strategy, delivering due diligence on new project opportunities and supporting the development of the O&M business function
- Development of the O&M arm of the business and the processes the support this
- Proactively working with existing clients, contractors and partners to maximise engagement and cooperation for technical queries across live assets
- Negotiating service contracts
- Building strong working relationships with our existing clients and CPO’s
- Providing comprehensive scopes and quotes for work packages
- Supporting the response team to manage asset outages and resolution through rapid response interventions
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
- Experience working in a similar role, preferably for an ICP
- Must be hardworking, reliable and flexible
- Must have strong communication skills and posses good attention to detail

This is a crucial position managing the delivery of projects, ensuring all components encompass the agreed customer requirements. You will be required to provide an accurate timely and consistent level of service to both internal and external stakeholders across the whole range of business services for EV charging points and networks projects across the UK.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as an integral interface between the internal sales, estimating, design & delivery teams, external contractors and suppliers
- Liaise with consultants, delivery managers, clients, sub-contractors and support functions ensuring tenders, specifications, quantities, issues and risks are identified quoted and agreed accurately
- Offer full design support to the client and delivery teams
- Provide a high, always maintained level of customer service to clients
- Updating internal project monitoring systems as and when appropriate
- Commercial responsibility for allocated projects
- Document control for project documentation and record keeping
- Act as an integral interface between Projects, Estimating and Delivery team
- Developing and maintaining compelling relationships with all stakeholders

Qualifications/Skills

- 17th edition electrical works would be a huge advantage
- NVQ Business Administration Level 2 or equivalent would be an advantage

- A-C level grade GCSE and Math and English
We are looking for a team player with the relevant EV and grid connections experience who is eventually looking to progress into a leadership role. The candidate will be required to ensure that all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner in accordance with Utility Line Management Systems and electrical technical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- To deliver work packages to a high standard (BS7671)
- Review and understand fully the requirements of all work instructions
- Provide technical advice on all cable installation and design works
- Complete electrical site surveys on existing supplies & new EV charger locations

- Working with large LV supplies within LV switch rooms and substations

This role will involve UK wide travel to sites on which we work, with overnight stays where sites are outside of a reasonable travelling distance.
The Electrical Site Supervisor is directly responsible for ensuring that all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner to a high standard. The candidate must have experience working on Commercial and Industrial site installs and those with experience working on the installation on Commerical EV charge point sites would be advantageous.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all onsite personnel
- Responsible for the operational management of HV and LV installations
- Assess potentially hazardous and dangerous situations and to take appropriate action to ensure the safety of personnel, other site operatives and the general public
- Carry out risk assessments of the workplace
- Carry out audits and inspections of the workplace, tools, equipment and company vehicles
- Prepare switching programs for approval by the SAP Engineer
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of the HV/LV distribution systems
- Understand local network anomalies and ensure correct phase rotation
- Report all accidents and near misses
- Undertake site specific risk assessments
- Ensure all sites are administered effectively and efficiently to give a quality service
- Ensure Electricians fully understand and adhere to their job requirements
- Plan future work with the Electrical Operations Manager as appropriate
Qualification/Skill Requirements
- ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ experience at Site Manager level
- Distribution network planning (basic)

The Civils Site Supervisor will be responsible for managing our live project sites and taking responsibility for the works being completed. You will need to be open to new ways of working and highly efficient at managing your own workload and running multiple projects. You will need to ensure that all company procedures, construction phase plans and all associated documentation is communicated and adhered to.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Running multiple national projects at once
- Delivering briefings and de-briefings
- Supervise the delivery of all onsite works
- Raise awareness of the issues which may affect the safe operation of works and report these as observed to the Health & Safety Manager
- Management of sub-contractors for project works
- Ordering of parts/materials/supplies/plant & equipment
- Carrying out upfront site surveys/issuing job packs
- Ensuring all relevant documentation for projects is complete and issued accordingly
- Working closely with Project Managers to ensure continuous line of communication
- Provide guidance and support to direct Civils teams to ensure that work undertaken is of the right quality and compliant with design/timescales required
- Carry out and record safety briefings/inspections
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Civils Supervisory experience and knowledge essential. Experience within an ICP or Electrical Utilities industry advantageous.

The Quantity Surveyor will sit within the Operations Department and will be responsible for cost planning, support with the tendering of projects, negotiating contract terms with contractors, compiling contract documents and administering on site construction contracts.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee financial aspects of assigned projects, including cost control, budget management and financial reporting
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Operations Managers and Sub Contractors to assess and control costs
- Provide regular updates and reports to Senior Management
- Manage the ongoing contract administration of design and build electrical utilities construction projects
- Managing progress meetings and running financial milestones reviews
- Managing and developing effective relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that staff and suppliers are aware of, and comply with their obligations
- Issuing contract instructions and accessing contractual claims
- Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for development activities to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, compliant projects for our clients
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Utility Line’s Health & Safety Policy & Quality Manual
Skills and Abilities
- Relevant qualifications within Quantity Surveying (educated to a degree standard MRICS)
- Experience working within the Construction industry, working within Electrical Utilities, an ICP or within the EV industry would be advantageous
- Exceptional financial acumen and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations. Legislations and current practice, including practical application of Health and Safety legislation
- Proficient use of Microsoft packages and experience using internal tracking and finance systems

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work predominantly on new EV and grid connection installations. Following full training you will be involved in the commissioning of EV Chargepoints, Site Surveys, Installation of Sub Stations, ensuring that Health & Safety guidelines are followed at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Electrical Team Leader with Electrical Works appropriate and in line with your Apprenticeship Training
- Attend all college lectures/workshops and pass all educational milestone and tests required as part of your course
- Carry out surveys and specifications alongside your Electrical Team Leader for our existing and new client base
- Adhere to Utility Line’s policy and applicable regulations
- Ensure that all works are recorded and reported into our project department via the project management system
- Fault finding and problem solving on new and existing installations
- Reporting any hazards/near misses using Utility Line’s reporting system
- Ensure that all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner and to a high standard in accordance with Utility Line Management Systems and Safety Statements
- Ability to work with a range of colleagues and clients and able to deliver great customer service onsite
- Abide by any requirements of our Electrical/On-Site accreditations including: NERS, CHAS, Safe Contractor, NICEIC & ISO
